Wishing Josh a Happy 9th Birthday and his brother Alfie and sisters Ruby and Darcey.

Have a lovely day with lots of treats.

Thursday 6 September 2018

Wishing Daisy and Max a Happy 12th Birthday, hope they both enjoy their day with plenty of treats.

Daisy and Max were Rosie's sister and brother. We didn't think this time last year that Rosie would no longer be with us, it makes you realise how we must enjoy the time one has with them especially as they get older.

It has been a very quiet year so far, at present, there are no plans to enter any shows. Josh is keeping well, enjoying being a pet dog and getting used to no longer having a companion.

Rosie 11 Years old

Friday 23 February 2018

A very sad day for us when we had to say our last goodbyes to our dear Rosie. She made a good recovery after her operation to remove her spleen but unfortunately the biopsy showed it was a particularly aggressive tumour that returned in less than 4 weeks. Over the last couple of weeks she went downhill and, along with our vet's advice, Rosie was peacefully put to sleep to save her from further suffering. She is missed by us, including Josh, but we will always have our lovely memories of her.

Saturday 10 February 2018

A quiet start to the year with no shows planned at present.

On 15 January Rosie was unwell. I took her to our vets who admitted her and after blood tests, xrays and scans it showed a mass on her spleen which necessitated an emergency operation to remove her spleen. Rosie recovered well after the operation and is slowly improving although this week she has been very quiet.

Since 2009 Rosie has been a Pets As Therapy dog. At the beginning of January, as she is now over 11 years of age and slowing down, unfortunately, we have decided to retire her from the visits. At the beginning Rosie visited several Care Homes where she was thoroughly spoilt by the elderly residents, many saying it brought back memories of dogs they had owned. More recently she has been visiting a local Special Needs School where the children loved to make a fuss of her. The children are on the autistic spectrum and the Head Teacher commented on the calming effect Rosie's visits has on them.
