Friday 1st January
Wishing Everyone All the Best for 2010.
Spent a lovely day with all the family, the two remaining puppies - Stella and Josh had a great time playing with our grandsons which was enjoyed by both puppies and children alike.
Today the last puppy Stella now to be called Darcey left for her new home, we wish her well and a long and happy life with her new family.
Josh's litter brother and sisters have now left for their new homes, however, he now has a big sister Rosie and an Uncle George to play with as he is to stay with us and join our 'doggy family'.
Monday 4th January
Not a lot of news at present, Josh continues to grow and becoming quite a character. Having had all his injections he is now allowed out into the 'big wide world'.
Monday 25th January
Josh is enjoying his Puppy Classes which he started last week. I'm sure he will get on fine when he realises this is a training exercise and not a social event to play with all the other puppies!!!
Wednesday 10th February
Today is George's 11th Birthday - 'Happy Birthday George' have a lovely day with lots of treats.
Friday 19th February
Yesterday was the Southern English Springer Spaniel Society Championship show, a show I always enjoy. It was good to catch up with friends after having not attended a show since before Amber had her puppies last autumn. Especially pleased to meet Silvia and Jack again who have one of Amber's 'puppies' from her first litter - Sophie, who looks lovely and is so like her Mum.
Sunday 28th February
Today Amber celebrates her 7th Birthday - 'Happy Birthday Amber' - enjoy your day and have some extra treats. It doesn't seem possible she can now be entered in Veteran Classes - how time flies.
Friday 5th March
All the excitement of Crufts has come and gone for another year. We enjoyed our day although Amber was unplaced in her class, the first time for her in a Veteran Class. She did her best for us and behaved beautifully and after all at the end of the day we took the best dog home.
Monday 15th March
Friday 30th April
A fairly quiet month, the puppies are almost six months old and as far as Josh is concerned growing rapidly. Josh has been to visit several shows with Amber to socialise and see what it's all about, hopefully he will enjoy the show scene when its his turn to be entered - we will have to wait and see.
Attended the English Springer Spaniel Club Breed Championship show with Amber where she was Best Veteran Bitch. Josh also came along for the experience and seemed to take it in his stride.
Sunday 11 April
Monday 31st May
Sorry not to have kept the 'News' page up-to-date recently, as some of you may be aware we have two family weddings. Our daughter Laura was married on 29th May and despite the weather we all enjoyed the most fabulous day. In three weeks time we are looking forward to celebrating our son Darren's wedding. We will also be celebrating our Ruby Wedding between the two weddings, so a very hectic time at the moment.
At the beginning of May Josh started his show career, below is a brief resume. I think he was quite over awed by these first couple of shows but hopefully will start to settle when he has been to a few more.
Sunday 16 May Sutton Dog Show - Josh was 1st in ESS Puppy and BPIB, judge Mr. Mike Wildman, Josh then gained the experience of going in the Gundog Puppy Group.
Monday 3rd May South of England Agricultural Society - Josh was 3rd in ESS Puppy and Amber was 2nd in ESS Open, the judge was Mrs. J. Willis. This is a show we enjoy going to as we also like going round the agricultural show as well.
Friday 4th June
Southern Counties Championship show, another lovely hot sunny day, almost too hot but shouldn't complain. The judge was Carole Coode, Josh was placed 4th in Minor Puppy Dog behind some nice puppies, this was his first championship show so a new experience for him. Amber was 2nd in Veteran Dog/Bitch as 1st was a dog she was therefore Best Veteran Bitch.
Wednesday 2nd June
Guildford & District CS show, for once we were able sit out and enjoy a hot sunny day. Josh was 1st in ESS Puppy and Best Puppy in Breed, the judge was Kirsty Miller, pleased with him and he went well in the Gundog Puppy Group judged by Jenny Miller.
